8 Fun Kids Activities You Can Do At Home
With the pandemic, many of us have been spending much more time indoors than we’re used to. So, we thought that this would be the perfect time to create some lifelong memories and bond with our kids with some fun kids activities in Dubai.
Most of these activities are pretty easy to do and can be done with everyday items that you find lying around the house. So, put your fun hat on and get ready for an enjoyable time.
1) Make a Necklace Out of Beads or Pasta
Have fun and improve your child’s fine motor skills at the same time. The threading involved keeps your child engaged and happens to a fantastic skill encouraging nimble use of fingers. At such an early age, being able to complete a task independently will also improve your child’s confidence transitioning into other areas of their lives.
2) Finger Painting
While we acknowledge that finger painting might get a bit messy, kids usually have a fantastic time and as a bonus, you make some wonderful memories. Make sure you keep your camera handy to click some wonderful pictures of your kids.
3) Colour “Easter Eggs” any time
It doesn’t have to be Easter Sunday to have fun coloring eggs. Let your child’s imagination run wild as they colour eggs in different colours and patterns. Encourage them to get creative by painting rainbows and bees as they explore their favourite colours. As a bonus, you can hide the eggs after and go for an Easter egg hunt making it an activity for the whole family.
4) Get Baking
For mommies who enjoy baking, let your kids join in the fun as they help you cook up your favorite recipes. From mixing to baking, your kids can put their kitchen hats on as they learn a life skill and bake their favorite goodies for the whole family.
5) Start a Daily Gratitude Practice
As adults, we find ourselves too busy running errands and finishing our task lists often forgetting that there’s a lot to be grateful for. With various levels of quarantine and stay-at-home restrictions to keep ourselves safe – this is a fun kids activity reminding us to say thanks as well.
6) Read a Map
Take your kids on the trip of a lifetime with their imagination and let them explore the places they will go and the things they will see in their lives. From the top of the Eiffel tower to a visit to the Taj Mahal, improve their knowledge and have fun – all without the cost of a plane ticket.
7) Enrich Their Minds With Music
From Mozart while a baby is in a mom’s tummy to the Itsy bitsy Spider as they grow up. As parents, most of us make our kids listen to the same music. But, with so much time being spent at home, it’s a great time to expose your child to some age-appropriate musical genres. Explore new themes and songs such as Daddy’s favorite Jazz or Granny’s favorite songs. And while your at it, have some fun by adding a bit of dance too.
